Accomplishments:

  • February 2020: 115+ homeless people were served with hot lunch and drinks at Cesar Chavez Park, Sacramento, CA
  • March/July 2020: 12 Families were given essential food rations for a month in Bangalore, India who were severely affected by the corona virus lock down.
  • March 2020: 5 Families were given a month’s food ration in Mysore, India who were severely affected by the corona virus lock down.
  • April 2020: Food essentials were distributed to 14 families at the Sacramento Islamic Resource Center and local areas who were affected by the corona virus crisis
  • April 2020: About 100 families were given food ration packages in remote villages of Rajasthan, India who were severely affected by the corona virus lock down.
  • April 2020: About 100 families are being helped with food ration packages in Aligarh, U.P, India who are severely affected by the corona virus lock down.
  • 300 hot meal boxes were distributed to the needy at Salam Masjid on the 1st day of Ramadan for breaking the fast.
  • 300 hot meal boxes were distributed to the needy (mostly refugee immigrants) at Salam Masjid on the 2nd Friday of Ramadan for breaking the fast on May 1st, 2020.
  • 100 families were given food ration packages in the slum area of Siwan district of Bihar, India
  • 30 families/individuals’ applications for financial help were processed for zakat-eligible payments and checks were handed to them at the Salam Center, Sacramento, CA on May 19, 2020 and other locations so far this year
  • 150 families were given food ration packages in the cyclone and Covid-19 affected areas of West Bengal, India
  • Dry snacks and fruits were delivered to about 200 HealthCare Staff at the UC-Davis Medical Center in Sacramento as a compliment from the Foundation in recognition of their services to the community in the Covid-19 pandemic.
  • “Delivered 22 boxes, each containing 12 1.5″ 3-Ring Binders for the benefit of 264 children at Clarkston Refugee community and the Burmese Madrasa in Atlanta, GA. It was part of their annual school supplies drive for these children in Atlanta area.”
