Graduate/Undergraduate Scholarship for the Study of Islamic Studies

Scholarship Objective:
To provide financial assistance to students who pursue higher education in Islamic Studies seeking undergraduate/graduate degrees so they can become community leaders, lead non-profit businesses, chaplains, and engage in inter-faith and other efforts to end prejudice, hatred, and seek social and economic justice for under-privileged and marginalized communities

Selection Criteria:
• Scholarship is available for undergraduate/graduate students who are legal residents of the United States enrolling in Islamic Studies courses in accredited seminaries, colleges, and universities.
• Applicants must be full time undergraduate or graduate level students; if they are undergraduates they must be an upper classman (junior or senior), and major in social sciences or humanities
• Student’s/family’s income should meet the low-income/need-based criteria

Applicants Must Submit:
1. Most up to date transcripts and resume (CV)
2. Applicants must have at least one letter of recommendation submitted on their behalf directly emailed to our email address below.
3. A one-page letter describing how the student aims to utilize the study of Islamic Studies to confront prejudices against Muslims and other minorities OR an essay written for a class taken in the past, demonstrating student’s solution to combat racial/religious prejudices prevailing in society.
4. Proof of enrollment in Islamic Studies courses at an accredited institution.
All documents must be submitted in PDF format except Photo.

Selection Process:
• Selection of scholarship recipients is based on the overall quality of an applicant’s submission.
• The committee will not consider applicants who do not comply fully with the above requirements.
• Selected candidates will be awarded $2,000 each (two thousand US dollars) towards the cost of tuition and fees.
